3.3 Why our Shoulders become Injured

The unique demands placed on the shoulder during ballistic overhead movements combined with the unique motor control challenges of the shoulder makes the shoulder highly susceptible to sport injuries. Here is a list of common shoulder injuries and common movements that aggravate shoulder tissue health.

As we discussed in the Law of One Cause, the factors why injuries occur is based on a simple equation. In other words, we need to develop enough motor control and maintain tissue health (recovery and regeneration, and rest) to handle the exposure we place on our shoulders during sport.
