DEVELOPING THE COMPLETE CORE
THE CORE it’s NOT EXACTLY WHAT YOU THINK.
The CORE is not simply your abs but a complex region that connects the hips, pelvis and spine from the head to the pelvis. The CORE is pivotal in force transfer, speed, power, sport specific skill and of course sport performance. Likewise when the CORE doesn’t function properly injury risk to the hip, low back, groin (AKA the HIP TRIAD) and throughout the body (knee, ankle, shoulder) increases significantly.
It is well appreciated by (industries) that the core is critical to injury risk and sport performance. Operationalizing or assessing the core is poorly done. That’s because the CORE is more than just how many sit-ups you can do, or how long you can plank.
The CORE as we define it involves 6 major qualities. Each quality need to be assessed individually, but also as a whole to properly assess the CORE. We call this the CORE PROFILE – using use advanced technology, data analytics and cutting edge sport science research to ….
